Air Safety Navigators provides Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) training to the resource sector, offshore oil and gas industry and airport staff. The aviation radio training meets the requirements of Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 64. This licence is essential for ground based operations utilising airband frequencies in communications with aircraft.
Courses are customised to suit the type of operation. For example we have specific offshore radio courses related to helideck operations which are suited to Helicopter Landing Officers (HLO), Helicopter Landing Assistants (HLA), Control Room Operators, Radio Operators and Medics. The offshore specific AROC radio course can be conducted on site, at an offshore facility or at a land based training venue.
Personnel who commonly require an AROC are:
- Operations personnel
- HLO’s
- Medics
- Ground service personnel
- Aircraft engineers (LAME)
- Weather observers
- Aerodrome reporting officers
Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a CASA Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate which is valid until cancelled or suspended a course certificate is also provided.
